The new RR11T is a compact telescopic aerial platform developed by Platform Basket to make elevated railway maintenance easier, faster, and safer.

Designed to be extremely lightweight and compact, it can be transported on road trailers with a maximum total weight of 3.5 tons, while providing a working height of 10.5 m with a 230 kg payload and two operators. The RR11T can operate as a self-propelled platform for both railway and civil aerial tasks.

The platform can be transported easily using pick-ups or vans with tow hooks and lightweight trailers that do not require an HGV license.

Its base structure features a tracked undercarriage for road and off-road use, providing excellent traction and low ground pressure for delicate surfaces such as railway station floors. Two hydraulically controlled rollers allow seamless conversion from tracks to railway wheels. The tracks can rotate hydraulically by 90° relative to the bogies, ensuring quick access to the railway without special alignment manoeuvres.

The transmission features independent drive wheels for both tracks and railway wheels. Each railway wheel has a negative brake for safe stopping in any loss-of-power situation. Combined with a two-speed system, the RR11T can travel on rails at up to 10 km/h.

Power is supplied by a 10.5 kW diesel engine. An optional lithium-ion battery version provides fully electric operation, ideal for tunnels, subways, and indoor facilities such as stations and depots.

The upper structure rotates 360° and automatically levels the basket even on cant (CANT) inclinations up to 180 mm, gauge 1435 mm. Articulated arms make it compact and suitable for entering and exiting the track safely, even when roads remain open to traffic.

Equipotential bonding via 35 mm² copper braids at all joints ensures operator safety against electrical surges. The all-aluminium basket accommodates up to two operators (230 kg).

• Civil works: maintenance of station platform roofs and general station upkeep

• Rail access: light maintenance including signage, lighting, and electrical lines

• Tunnels and subways: general maintenance indoors, with zero-emission operation using lithium-ion batteries

The 90° rotation of the tracks allows instant switching between railway and road logistics.

Operation is possible via remote control from the basket or from the ground when the basket is empty.
